TEMPORARY PAUSE FOR RESIDENTIAL DESIGN SERVICES Our residential design services are booked through March 2025. We are, however, still receiving new DIY (Do-It-Yourself) consultation clients, commercial design clients (large properties, including parks and sanctuaries) and bird survey clients. If you would like to be contacted when our residential design services become available again, please let us know:
If you want to redo a bed (or your whole property!) with bird-and-pollinator-friendly plants, but aren’t sure where to begin, consider purchasing a landscape design from GO Native Landscaping. We design landscapes for both homeowners and businesses, including projects ranging in size from a single bed to multi-acre properties. Our plans can either incorporate existing plants you want to keep or introduce all new plants and beds to showcase a completely new design.
Our designs factor in client goals, soil and light conditions, and aesthetic and functional considerations (such as, “Will children be playing near this bed?” “Where will people be walking to access the hose?”). We also take into account the way your landscape will evolve over time, such as how a tree with a fast growth rate could affect the light in a neighboring bed, and which plants to add for their ability to thrive in changing light conditions.
We provide drawings based on your desired style, whether that’s a formal design in neighborhoods where a classic appearance is preferred, a naturalistic look that resembles the seemingly “accidental” beauty found in nature, or a contemporary design for a sleek, modern look.
In order to serve as many clients as possible, we offer two levels of services, Digital Design & Hand-drawn Design. Digital design services are ideal for clients who have a decent budget to work with and plan to hire a landscaping company to install the design. Hand-drawn designs are ideal for folks working with a smaller budget who may be considering DIY (Do It Yourself) installation.
Digital Vs. hand-Drawn Designs
Digital Landscape Design:
Exists in digital format, which can be reproduced and shared with a landscaping company or with family or co-workers.
Includes foot-by-foot grid that indicates the exact dimensions of each bed and the precise recommended spacing between plants.
Includes list of potential “swap” plants in case a plant on the map is unavailable during installation.
Pricing is $3 per square foot, with a minimum project cost of $500. Most digital designs land in the $900-$2200 range. A digital design for an entire property, which includes both front and back yards, can run between $1,600-$3500.00, depending on the size of the property. To initiate a redesign of an entire property, typically two design consultants will need to be on the property most or all of the day, or on two separate half-day sessions.
Digital design fees are estimated after consultation, with 50% due before design work begins and the remainder due upon completion.
Includes up to two revisions based on client feedback.
Includes one year of optional email support to provide guidance and answer questions about recommended plants.
Optional addition: A 3D image view of one or more beds, so you can “envision” what your new landscape will look like (see example below).
Optional addition: Plant list - List of live links with information and photos of all plants.

Hand-drawn Landscape Design:
Exists on paper, with hard copy original scanned and emailed to client.
Dimensions and spacing approximated on paper, instructions shared with client in margins (Such as, “Coneflowers: One foot spacing.”)
Includes list of potential “swap” plants in case a plant on the map is unavailable during installation.
Pricing is $1.50 per square foot. Most hand-drawn designs fall in the $400-$800 range. A hand-drawn design for an entire property, which includes both front and back yards, can run between $900-$1500.00, depending on the size of the property. To complete a redesign of an entire property, two design consultants will need to be on the property most or all of the day, or on two separate half-day sessions.

Here is a juxtaposition of the same garden nook design map both in digital format and hand-drawn format. As you can see, digital designs do look nicer. At the same time, hand-drawn designs, while slightly messy, are still clear enough to understand where plants need to be placed:

To receive an estimate for a digital design or a hand-drawn design for your property, please sign up for a consultation. During the consultation, we will study your property’s soil and light conditions and ask questions to better understand your goals.
