The design for Gardens of Croix Park in Manvel took over a year of committee meetings and revised design drafts to complete. In July 2022 a member of the Croix Park Landscape Committee presented our design to the Manvel City Council. The committee member praised GO Native's design and pointed out the rapid development occurring in Manvel combined with its lack of parks. Her passion and wisdom stunned the Manvel City Council, who voted unanimously to make GO Native Landscaping's design a reality.
A few months later when the project was put out for bid, we were too booked to take on more projects, so we did not put in a bid. We were excited to learn that Landscape Art won the bid and would soon install our design. The City of Manvel invited GO Native Landscaping's Glenn Olsen to serve as a consultant on the project, thus on numerous occasions Glenn responded to emails and met onsite with Landscape Art and City of Manvel staff to share feedback on everything from shrub and boulder purchases to the most bird-friendly location for their new bird pond, among other design considerations.

Gardens Of Croix Park LANDSCAPE DESIGN
A few of our favorite features of this landscape design include its winding trail, its bird pond and bird drips, and its natural brush pile, which serves as both shelter for insects and hunting grounds for birds like wrens. A unique feature of this design is that the trail leads to multiple gardens designed to support specific wildlife, such as a hummingbird garden, a butterfly garden, and a bee garden. The centerpiece of the bee garden is a bee hotel designed for native solitary bees to nest in.
